How to Use

From the Founder
ALTAR grew from a season of deep recalibration.
After navigating cancer in 2020 and a period of significant environmental stress, my body became more sensitive and my relationship with care changed. My skin required more gentleness, more discernment. Not only in what I was placing on it, but in how I was tending to it, and a ritual was born.
I began taking time and space to care for myself deliberately, rebuilding a sense of safety in my body through touch and scent. That season sharpened my awareness of what I was taking in through food, information, environment — and what I was applying to my skin each day was a part of that.
Clean formulation stopped being a preference and became a necessity. A line of integrity and a devotion.
Living rurally, with limited access to products that worked with my skin, I returned to an old practice from my twenties: making organic skincare by hand.
At the same time, altars became central in my life. They were places where I laid down desires, grief, dreams, gratitude, fear, and hope. Places that reminded me that tending to myself was not indulgence, but survival; a birthright.
ALTAR and my true hero product, SUNVEIL was born from that place.
Each bottle is made slowly in the high desert of New Mexico — altar-made, in rhythm with a life that has learned not to rush what matters. I hope these products hold you like they have held me.
